It was a highlight of the trip to Charleston for sure!.On a sidenote...if you are on your own personal little "Notebook" tour as we kind of were, and are looking to find the actual home that Noah renovated on Wadmalaw Island, don't bother. The College of Charleston was used as the backdrop for the Allie's (Rachel McAdams) college. They changed the movie's main setting to the fictional place of Seabrook, South Carolina. Very large indeed maintained by slaves in those days. It can be very educational and fun....or, if you are just a big fan of "The Notebook" like myself, then go for that reason (and take pictures of yourself by the gates where Noah stood looking for Allie and by the front porch of the Allie's summer home, of course! Get your "Notebook" fix here at Boone Hall Plantation, and some of the various other sights they used for filming in downtown Charleston and surrounding areas :-). The curator was fantastic. The gate was supposed to be open, but the scene looked so good that the director chose to leave it in the final print. If you love visiting historic places, definitely stop by this place.
